Emergency Dentistry

We emphasize the importance of seeing a dentist on a regular basis. By opting for such “preventative treatment” most emergencies can be avoided. However, should a situation arise where “crisis treatment” is necessary, we will always be here for you.

Knocked-out tooth: Retrieve the tooth and clean off the root, but be careful not to scrub it or further damage any attached strands of tissue. If possible, put the tooth back in the socket. Otherwise, place it in a container with milk or water.

Broken Tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.

Bitten Tongue/Lip: Clean the area gently with a cloth and apply a cold compress. If bleeding persists, go to an ER immediately.

Objects Caught: Try to remove by gently flossing. Do not use a sharp instrument in between the teeth.

Toothache: Rinse the mouth with warm water. Floss to ensure that no foreign objects or food are wedged between the teeth. Never put aspirin or any painkiller on the gums or near the aching tooth – it can result in a serious chemical burn.
